A DC Comics original, Hawkman is the king of the skies, using his artificial wings and medieval weaponry to fight evil from above. Since his first appearance in DC Comics way back in 1940, he has been one of the most popular superheroes from the Golden Age of comics. On the original roster of the Justice League of America, Hawkman is a reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince, Khufu. With the help of his partner/love interest Hawkwoman, he has fought alongside Superman, Batman, Aquaman and The Green Arrow. Every Hawkman utilizes archaic weaponry such as maces, nets, spears, and shields. In 2009, Warner Brothers announced it was developing a feature film of Hawkman. He is also a playable character in Batman: The Brave and the Bold – The Videogame.
